A 2m channel was excavated between the two piers.

Approximately 200 tonnes of rock armour was spread along the channel bed in two layers.

All the concrete blocks used for the scour protection were manufactured in our Irvine depot, then transported to site for installation.

Over 230 concrete blocks were installed to protect the sides of the channel from scour and erosion.

  

The remit for Kinclair Viaduct was to provided and install scour protection between Piers 6 and 7 of the viaduct.
